18 January 2010 – Microsoft Gold Certified business partner Probil integrated Microsoft Server Virtualization technology, which provides significant cost advantages to its own solutions.
Probil, using Microsoft’s new virtualization platform “Hyper-V,” provides services for a portfolio of leading business organizations, with 70 servers in subsidiary companies, business partners and branches in 5 different locations. With this investment, Probil significantly reduced the number of servers and saved on hardware, energy, management and maintenance costs. Now Probil, with trustworthy and non-stop high-level serving high performance servers not only meets customers’ virtualization needs but also gains extra capacity.
Microsoft Turkey Vice General Director Kundakçı, assessed Probil’s growth with following comment:

Probil, being the only technology company in the Turkish informatics sector that is partnered with both domestic and foreign capital investment companies, employs 450 personnel, has 6 branches and 44 business partners including subsidiary companies.
What did virtualization provide for Probil?
As Probil’s server disorganization on the location basis of its previous structure increased costs, it also complicated management. When Probil management realized that by applying the Microsoft Virtualization solution Hyper-V to its infrastructure, the costs of such items as operating, maintenance, management, adaptation, education and security can be significantly reduced while increasing efficiency. As a result of this analysis they decided to invest. In the new structure, apart from server virtualization works, improvements are initiated while combining the servers, providing customers with the services in existent locations.
Probil’s CTO Necmi Ön in his speech on Probil’s benefits made the following remarks:

The Server Virtualization solution that we present to our customers as Probil is applied by us to our own organization. Not only does Hyper-V reduce hardware costs and save on energy, it also supports creation of the increasing added value to the firm by investments in information technologies. While with this investment Probil provided operational flexibility in management and operation issues, it also gained an opportunity to competitively assess cost advantages in server hosting and development.
While by using Microsoft Virtualization Solutions Probil itself saves 30,000 TL a year on electricity consumption, the benefits of this investment for customers are expected to be even higher.
